Tzav HaLevThe Heart's Calling

Accessibility Statement

Tzav HaLev is committed to making its website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities, so that all visitors can use it easily and with dignity.

The Standard We Follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is the level required by EN 301 549, the European standard for accessible websites under the European Accessibility Act and the EU Web Accessibility Directive, and the benchmark generally used in the United States under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As an Israeli organization, we also follow Israeli Standard IS 5568.

Conformance status: this website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Most of the site meets the standard, but some parts do not yet fully meet it. They are listed below, under "Known Limitations".

What We Have Done on the Site

  • A clear heading structure and consistent navigation across all pages.
  • Alternative text for every image that conveys information.
  • The language of every page is set, so that screen readers read English pages in English and Hebrew pages in Hebrew.
  • The entire site can be navigated with a keyboard. Your position on the page is clearly marked, and every page begins with a "Skip to main content" link.
  • Careful attention to the contrast between text and background.
  • The site adapts to screens of all sizes, including phones, and you can enlarge the text in your browser.
  • The videos on the site serve only as background: they have no sound and carry no information that is not also in the text. You can stop all of them with the button below this list. On devices with "Reduce motion" turned on, they stop automatically.
  • The "Contact Us" form has a label for every field and shows clear messages when required information is missing. Once the form is sent, a confirmation message replaces it, and the keyboard focus moves to that message.

Known Limitations

  • Online donations: card donations are made on a page run by our payment provider, morning. That page is in Hebrew only, and its accessibility is outside our control. You can also donate by bank transfer, using the details on our Donate page, or write to us and we will help you complete your donation.
  • External platforms: the links to our pages on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram lead to external platforms. Their accessibility is the responsibility of their operators.

Feedback and Contact

If you run into any difficulty on the site, or need any of its content in a different format, we would be glad to hear from you: write to us at info@tsavhalev.com, and your message will be passed on to the person responsible for accessibility at Tzav HaLev. It helps to tell us which page you were on and what the difficulty was. We aim to reply within five business days.

If You Are Not Satisfied with Our Response

You may contact the Commission for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities at Israel's Ministry of Justice. If you live in the European Union, you may also contact the authority responsible for accessibility in your country.

Technical Information

The site is built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and is designed to work with current versions of the major browsers and with assistive technologies such as screen readers.
